Charles Smith

Charles Y. "Von" Smith, 88, had his eternal reunion on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Per Von's request there will be no service.
Von was born Dec. 18, 1929 in Poolville to Mardell and Eula Ingle Smith. At a young age he joined his father as a carpenter and continued to fix and build anything throughout his life. In 1949 he joined the Marines and served his country in the Korean War. In Nov. 1953, he married Phyllis Southerland. He retired in January 1995 from Lockheed after more than 30 years. Von loved going to his land and family vacations in his R.V.
Von is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, his parents, four sisters, and one brother.
Survivors: Son, Clifton Smith; daughter, Caren S. Wilson and husband, John; daughter, Cheri S. Bennett and husband, Joseph; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
