Charles Smith

Charles E. "Chuck" Smith, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 after a lengthy battle with COPD.
Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook.

Chuck was born June 18, 1936 in Oakhill, Ohio and lived in Springfield, Ohio until he and Edna migrated to Texas in 1984. He was a finished blade operator by trade and worked until his retirement for various construction companies. Chuck was a veteran of the Navy and served 4 years during the Korean War. He was stationed on the USS Des Moines and on the USS Boston.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and his beloved son, Ellis Eugene "Gino".
Survivors: Wife of 39 years, Edna (Shank) Smith; son, Charles Smith Jr. and wife, Janet; son, David Smith; daughter, Cindy Sandlin and husband, Tim; son, Todd Campbell and wife, Lori; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his special "buddies" and friends.
