Carla Houx

Carla Dianne Houx passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2018, on her 66th birthday.
Funeral service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126. Burial: New Gordon Cemetery, Gordon. Pallbearers: Travis Lloyd, Joe Thieman, Wally Jones, Tom Carr, Mike Barron and Harold Guimarin.
Carla was born January 10, 1952 in Ulysses, Kan. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Carla earned her MBA degree. She later taught business courses at TCU, UTA and business education within the Texas Department of Corrections. Carla had suffered a stroke in 2013 and lost her battle with a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James F. Houx and Clara Jean Houx of Fort Worth.
Survivors: Carla is survived by her brother, Frank Houx and wife, Joanie of San Angelo; nieces, Jordan Houx of Irving, Casey Thieman and husband, Joe of San Angelo, and Kylie Houx of San Angelo. She was blessed with numerous friends and many angels who assisted with her healthcare, and a special thanks to Overture Home Care.
