Buck Wilkins

July 10, 1939 — November 7, 2015

FORT WORTH -- Buck Howard Wilkins peacefully passed away in Fort Worth on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015.
Memorial service: 5 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook.
Buck was born in Hamilton on July 10, 1939, to Nathan Ernest Wilkins Jr. and Marjorie Marie McPherson Wilkins. He moved with his family to Benbrook at an early age, attending Trimble Tech High School and working at Bell Helicopter, where he retired as a chrome and gold plater. Buck was a true renaissance man: west side bar owner (including Katie Lynn's, Pirate's Cove, The Attic, Tap Room, River Oaks Bar and Grill, Garfield's), painter, vintage car enthusiast, and pool hustler to name a few of his many talents. Buck was a compassionate and generous friend to those in need; he was also an organ donor. He will be sorely missed.
Buck was preceded by the passing of his wife, Katie Lynn McConnell Wilkins, in 2008.
Survivors: He is survived by his daughters, Robin Wilkins Smith and Jacqlyn D'Ann Reyering and their husbands, Mike Smith and Ron Reyering; brother, Jack Dennis Wilkins and wife, Becky Wilkins; and grandchildren, Trevor Howard Vinson, Joshua Owens, Jeff Owens, Matthew Reyering, Christopher Reyering, Christopher Smith and Marcus Smith.
