Brian Wayne Sarap, 70, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Service Information: Visitation: 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, Texas 76126. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home, following visitation. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park, 500 Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060.
Brian was born June 27, 1951 in Lubbock, Texas to Nick and Gladys Sarap. He spent 32 years on the Fort Worth Fire Department and retired as Captain at Station 18. He became the first registered EMT in the Fort Worth Fire Department in 1972. Brian was the firehall cook and loved cooking for his crew. He often said he was fortunate and blessed to have a career that he loved.
Brian was an avid hunter and spent many days at the family acreage in Jacksboro, Texas. His German Shepherd, Sadie, often accompanied him. He had his HAM Radio License and enjoyed talking to people all over the country.
In December 1981 he met Gail, the love of his life. Four months later they were married. He was a wonderful husband and father. Brian will be remembered for the love he always showed for his wife, his children, and friends. If you were his friend, you knew he would be there if needed.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Gail Sarap; daughter, Jennifer; son, Jeremy; grandson, Noah; brother, Mike; sister-in-law, Sue; nephew Mikey; niece, Stephanie; and all his fellow firefighters and hunting buddies, whom he loved.
