Billy Earl Emert Jr.

Billy Earl Emert Jr., was born August 3, 1975, in Los Angeles, California to Billy Earl Emert Sr. and Carol Jean Bunch Emert. On April 5, 2024, the angels of God escorted Billy into the presence of his Lord, where he is experiencing profound rest!.

Billy was raised in Lone Oak, Texas. He attended Christ for The Nations, WGU. He enjoyed working alongside his dad and grandfather with carpentry and working on cars. Billy also played football and basketball in high school.

When Billy was 12, he went on a mission trip to Cd Victoria, Mexico, where he met Stephanie Lewis, who was 11 at the time. Jump forward 17 years, Billy recognized Stephanie on her first week at Christ for The Nations. They started dating after two weeks. They were married May 27, 1995, at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens.  

Billy worked at Microsoft as an IT Engineer. But work was just a small part of his life. He and Stephanie loved cruises, walking, kayaking, and reading. They loved Lord of the Rings, Eragon, and more from authors like Leonard Ravehill, and CS Lewis. He always talked to God like a close friend.

One of his favorite Bible verses was from Revelation 3:2 ESV: “Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God.”

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Stephanie; three children; one daughter-in-law; one son-in-law; two amazing grandsons; his parents, Billy Emert and Carol Emert; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; and an extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and many church friends.

He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Billy will be remembered as a gentle giant, a Worshiper, a Prayer Warrier, and an amazing husband, father, and Pops.

Billy's Celebration of Life Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024, HighRidge Church, 10100 Rolling Hills Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76126. Stephanie has asked all attendees to wear light-colored attire to Billy's Celebration! During this gathering, we will fondly reflect on the beautiful and faith-filled life of Billy. Let's treasure the myriad of memories, laughter, and love he generously gave us. May his spirit be a source of inspiration and guidance as we embark on our paths, always mindful of the significance of joy, compassion, and rest!
