Betty Jean Watson, 89, passed into the arms of Jesus Saturday, August 25, 2018.
Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Western Hills Community Church, 8500 Chapin Road, Fort Worth 76116. Visitation: 5-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook 76126. Burial: Benbrook Cemetery, Benbrook, Texas.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests consideration of a contribution to Western Hills Community Church.
Betty was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Phillips, Texas to Porter and Etta Mae Braden. She had five brothers and she was the only girl. Betty married Harold L. Watson on March 14, 1947. Together they made their home in Fort Worth. Betty and Harold raised their three children in a Christian home and were charter members of Western Hills Baptist Church. After a long career in banking, Betty retired from Texas American Bank as a bank officer. During her career Betty was active in the Fort Worth Women's Credit Union and served as President during her tenure. Together, Betty and Harold loved to travel in their RV, especially with their grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron, and other family members. They always shared adventure and beauty together. Betty lived a life full of joy and shared her love with everyone, making each one of us feel special to her.
Betty was preceded in death by the true love of her life, her husband, Harold; brothers, Frank, Raymond "Spooks", James and Wayne.
Survivors: Betty is survived by her brother, Bill Braden of Kansas; and her children, Tom Watson and wife, Vicki, Phil Watson and wife, Sookhee, and Donna Regan and husband, Shawn; grandchildren, Taylor Ward and husband, Jeff, Cameron Regan, and Shirley Suh and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Graham and Dawson Ward; and a host of nieces and nephews.
