Betty Jean Skinner Allen, 88, passed away peacefully and free of pain on February 27, 2024. She lived in Benbrook most of her life and called it home. Jean was born on October 19, 1935, to Bessie and Walter Skinner in Fort Worth. She graduated Tech High School where she joined the marching band and was a majorette and played the saxophone. She went on to attend TCU. Jean had a strong and devout Christian belief and loved to play the piano. She could never pass up a bargain wherever she went. She would always find new recipes to try and would ensure no one left her house hungry.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Jean Allen; her parents, Bessie, and Walter Skinner; and her brother, Joe Skinner.
Survivors include her two siblings, Weldon Skinner and his wife, Charlotte; and Marion Sue Tolleson; three sons, David Allen and his wife, Kristina, Butch Allen and his wife, Cindy, and John Allen and his wife, Brenda; and multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to Kathleen, for her dedication and compassionate care of Jean during her time at Heart to Heart Hospice.
