Bernice Scott

Bernice Marie Scott, 85, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Celebration of Life: 4 p.m., Monday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, TX 76126.
Bernice was born Sept. 24, 1932 in Willow River, Minn., one of twenty children, fourteen of whom survived to adulthood. She was a farm girl who grew up to go to the big city of St. Paul, Minn., boarding with her eldest sister, Helen, and her family for a while. She met William “Scotty” Scott and they were married April 19, 1952. Bernice was a homemaker through and through. She made a wonderful home for Scotty and their six children. She was active in the Catholic Church her entire life, no matter where the wandering military life took them. They finally settled in Fort Worth, Texas where she has lived ever since. Bernice loved beauty, whether it was decorating her home, caring for the yard and her flowers, or creating a beautiful Sunday meal for the family. She helped her neighbors and friends at every turn, and loved it when grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed!
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William J. Scott, in 2013.
Survivors: Daughters, Cynthia Meyer-Lacey and husband, Michael, and Katharine Walston and husband, Gregory; sons, Richard Scott, David Scott and wife, Cindy, Donald Scott and wife, Paula, and Patrick Scott and wife, Karen; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Blazer; brother, Martin Price; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
