Barry and his twin sister, Barbara, were born on Sept. 26, 1939, to Harvey E. & Dorothy Mitchell in Lynn, MA. Immediately after his 18th birthday, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years and retired as MSGT in 1976.
