Audrey Joyce Wallace, 80, of Granbury, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Granbury.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Granbury, 303 W. Bridge St., Granbury 76048. A lunch reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has requested gifts to be given in Audrey's honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Granbury's Handbell choir.
Audrey was born December 1, 1935 in Manchester, Connecticut. She moved with her family to Arlington, Texas in 1947. She met Coy (Buz) Robert Wallace while in high school and married two years later on January 29, 1955.
After starting a family, Audrey went back to college where she became an educator. She worked for over twenty years as a teacher and administrator. Audrey and Buz retired to Granbury, Texas in 1998 where they quickly became very active members of First Presbyterian Church of Granbury. Audrey loved to learn and enjoyed serving and volunteering in her community.
She will be remembered for her generous and giving spirit, her passion for weaving, joy in handbell playing and her fierce competitiveness in Bridge.
Audrey is survived by Buz, her loving husband of 61 years; daughter, Kathleen (Ken) Perkins of Grand Prairie, Texas; son, Kevin (Amy) Wallace of Carrollton, Texas; and son, Kent (Becky) Wallace of Allegan, Michigan; and sister, Jackie Cole of Whitney, Texas. She is blessed with twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
