Obituary

Arthur Jerry Dyck, 82, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1943, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Mamie and Curtis Dyck.

Jerry will be remembered for his generosity and love of family, friends and country. He graduated from Northwestern State University in 1965 and entered the

U. S. Navy in 1966. Jerry attended graduate school earning an MBA-Taxation from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. Upon leaving the Navy, he enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserve in July 1976 and retired as a Captain in 2000. Captain Dyck's awards include the Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, Coast Guard Bicentennial Unit Commendation, National Defense Medal (2), Vietnam Service Medal (6), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Expert Rifle and Pistol Medals.

Jerry's love was his wife, Barbara E. Dyck. Together they shared 50 years of a life filled with love, laughter, family and cows.

Jerry is survived by his wife Barbara E. Dyck, his sister Margie Driskill, children Robyne Lutz, Robert (Cindy) Haskins, Jonathan (Tina) Sullivan and daughter-in-law Dominique Dyck. Grandchildren Nikole Kirkpatrick, Courtney Barry, Robert Cuyler Haskins, Ashlie Curtis, Thano and Thalia Dyck, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and nephew Gordon Dyck.

He is proceeded in death by his son Jeffery A. Dyck, parents Mamie and Curtis Dyck, Brother Burnice E. Dyck and nephew David Driskill.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
