Antonio (Tony) Rodriguez, born in 1931 in Floresville, Texas dedicated his life to service – to country, family, and community. He passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, surrounded by family members. Antonio proudly served in the US Army for 3 years followed by 25 years’ service in the Air Force. During his distinguished military career, he earned numerous commendations and awards. Traveling the world during his career, he mastered 6 foreign languages.
Following military retirement, Antonio continued a life of public service through many volunteer efforts. He taught ESL courses, citizenship classes; he was a member of Catholic Charities and CCC. He was proud to be a board member of the Tarrant County Food Bank. He also served a number of years as a hospitality minister at St Andrews Catholic Church. Antonio was respected for his dedication, integrity and mentorship and carried those values throughout every aspect of life.
Outside of service, Antonio enjoyed bowling and building bird houses.
He is survived by his children, Ron (Jerrene) and Evelyn (f. Ed). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Beth, Paul & Billy and five great grandsons, Jameson, Macoy, Owen, Cooper, and John.
Antonio was preceded in death by his wife, Annaliese and his parents, Faustino and Carmen. Of the 8 children in the family, he was the last surviving member.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to St Gabriel’s Hospice and staff at Sunrise Senior Community for their compassion and care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association or given in his memory.
