Alta Fisher

September 18, 1940 — April 20, 2014

WEATHERFORD -- Alta Kaye Fisher passed from this life into the arms of our savior on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.
Memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Aledo United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014.
Gifts in her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation, Manna Storehouse of Weatherford, or the Aledo United Methodist Church.
Alta was born in Albuquerque, N.M. in 1940 and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1958. She married Kenneth Fisher in 1960, and they recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. For over 25 years, she worked as a nurse for several doctors in Fort Worth and at the White Settlement and Carswell AFB Hospitals. In her younger years, she enjoyed family oriented activities, including serving as Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader for her two children. In later years, she actively participated as a member of the Parker County Women's Club and the Red Hat Society. A lifelong Methodist, she and her husband have been enthusiastic members of the Aledo United Methodist Church for over 30 years.
Until settling in east Parker County in 1984, she lived in several towns and cities in the US and in Brussels, Belgium for four years. In that time, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and enabled both of her children to graduate from high school there.
Her parents, Kay and Eugenia Dunsworth of Albuquerque, N.M., preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Frank, George, and James Dunsworth.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Fisher of Weatherford; her daughter and son in-law, Machele and Rick Haskin; her grandson, Ricky Haskin, of Olathe, KS; and her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Yvette Fisher of San Antonio.
