Allan Raymond Roades

Allan has walked on his last punchline, bowled his last strike, strummed his last chord, sung his last note, hit his last longball, and turned his last double play ("just like on tv!").

The love of my life. I will miss him forever.

Raymond Allan Roades was born in Alton, Illinois on October 24, 1950 to Kathleen Marie Holland and Raymond Ralph Roades of Wood River, Illinois.

He passed August 26, 2025 in Weatherford, Texas with his wife by his side.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Jacob Dean Shoemaker, and sister-in-law Doni Travis.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Travis Roades of Benbrook, Texas; brother, Roger Lee Roades and sister-in-law, Angela Roades of Batchtown, Illinois; brother-in-law Arvie Travis of Saginaw, Texas; niece Sarah Roades Hill (Michael) of Batchtown, Illinois; niece Lydia Roades Swan (Jeremy) of Roodhouse, Illinois; nephew Matthew Travis (Emily) of Joshua, Texas; niece Christina Travis Rivas (Rafael) of Pattonville, Texas; niece Jess Travis Quinn (Joseph) of Saginaw, Texas; and eleven great nephews and two great nieces.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook, TX 76126.

We will gather for sandwiches and stories at the Benbrook Community Center YMCA 1899 Winscott Rd, Benbrook, TX 76126, in Studio B.
