Alfred "Al" J. Stichnot, 85, of Benbrook, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2015.
Service: Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1201 S. Cherry Lane, Fort Worth. Visitation: 9:15 a.m. Thursday, with rosary following at the church. Interment: 1:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, with full military honors.

Al was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Emporia, Kan. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after proudly serving for 26 years. Al was a decorated veteran of the Korean War and served many different assignments in Europe and the United States. Al then worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service until final retirement. Al had lived in Benbrook for 38 years.
Al has been a member of St. Peter's Church for 35 years and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #727 in Emporia, Kan.
Survivors: His wife of 48 years, Teresa Firigou Stichnot, originally of Athens, Greece; and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in the United States and Greece. He will be missed by his dogs, Kayce, Bella and Ziggy.
